GIVE
Young life in dallas' multiethnic
hard-to-fund neighborhoods
for every kid
Where We Are
at a Glance
Why
Because every kid should have the opportunity to have a Young Life leader, no matter what neighborhood they live in.
GROWTH
In 2000, Young Life was active in 7 schools and invested in 220 kids at club every week. Because the obstacle of funding was lifted, 20 years later, we're in 48 schools and over 1600 kids spend time at club every week. Generous friends of Young Life now give over $2 million, annually, to ensure that every kid has the chance to have a caring adult in their lives, no matter their ethnicity, ability, or what neighborhood they come from.
History
Traditionally, Young Life areas rely on financial support from networks of staff, local churches, businesses, and individuals in their community. While this model works for the communities it was created for, under this design, multi-ethnic hard-to-fund ministry remained stagnant. Starting in 2000, a group of people who cared about kids outside of their own neighborhoods, kids in Dallas' low-income areas, pledged to help alleviate the financial burden and empower Young Life in our low-income, diverse communities.
